CCP and the Torch Bearer

CCP staff with the Torch Bearer

The 2010 Olympic Torch Relay is a symbol of peace and friendship, and it represents a summons to the 2010 Winter Games. Everywhere the Torch Relay travels, it creates unique opportunities to engage people and communities. During its 106-day journey across Canada, the Olympic Torch Relay traveled right near CCP Burnaby office at the intersection of Wayburne Drive at Canada Way in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Employees from surrounding offices and residents from houses all around swarmed out towards the street to await the torch bearers. CCP employees joined the excitement and were even able to witness a torch pass off right at the intersection. We were lucky enough to get a picture with the torch bearer!

Canary Derby

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

This year we contributed to our Partner, Polycom Canada Ltd. at the Canary Derby. It was a ton of fun and we can’t wait to do it again next year. They took the liberty of adding our logo to their car, which was fantastic as seen in the photo above.

The first car they raced was the racy black BC Cancer Agency cart – they were half way down the track before we were even off the ramp!!!

Somehow or another they ended up having to race all of the fastest carts that were there. Slightly embarrassing for them. All of these slick, fiberglass, aluminum, giant-wheeled carts vs. plywood and 5″ wheels. They lost their races, but we weren’t the slowest – some carts had to be pushed across the finish line. At least they were still under their own power! I have to say there were a lot of laughs and a lot of fun!

All in all, they raised approx. $5,500 – so that’s fantastic. Beating their goal of $5k.

CCP 2008 Kick-Off in Whistler, B.C.

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

For the first time in 25 years, Canadian Communication Products Inc. flew all employees from across Canada, into B.C. to celebrate CCP’s 25th Anniversary as well as kick-off the new fiscal year together.

Traveling up to Whistler, B.C. (as seen in picture above), time was spent not only getting to know each other better in person, but team building was established through a “Quest Challenge Whistler Scavenger Hunt” where CCP employees were split into 8 teams and sent all over Whistler Blackcomb with a polaroid camera, taking pictures where clues lead us.

Overall, it was a fantastic weekend together as a CCP family!!!
